A couple of years ago the Hollywood Animation Archive digitized some classic 1936 POLLY AND HER PALS Sunday strips by Cliff Sterrett. Here are five examples. You can see the rest here.

Captain George's "How To Draw"

CAPTAIN GEORGE'S COMIC WORLD #5 isn't dated, but was published in 1968 or '69. George Henderson was a store owner in Canada who put together compilations of comic strips and things he had lying about, like this booklet from King Features, and also some 1940's comic strips to round out the page count.
