After throwing in the towel on the comic book business, EC Comics publisher William M. Gaines tried a line of hybrid comic books called Picto-Fiction, aimed at an adult readership. Since they were neither a prose magazine or comic book they failed to reach a large readership and were discontinued. TERROR ILLUSTRATED was the continuation of EC's horror comics, TALES FROM THE CRYPT, VAULT OF HORROR, HAUNT OF FEAR, with new versions of old stories that had once appeared in the comic books.
Many thanks to Cimmerian 32 for the scans of this issue, which I found online.
