Severin originals, and goodbye from Hairy Green Eyeball

John Severin has been a favorite of mine for many years, and I've done several blogs featuring his art. These are examples of his original art, taken from the Heritage Auctions site.

I've dreaded doing this posting, because it's my last as Hairy Green Eyeball. For some time other obligations have been pressing on me, which makes getting together the material for this blog--even at a reduced frequency of twice a week--a problem.

I started with the original HAIRY GREEN EYEBALL blog in May, 2008. I've enjoyed doing it for over three years. Thanks for reading.

The Absurd World of Exploitation on Film and Video

ABSURD "The World of Exploitation on Film and Video," is a movie fanzine from the UK, done on a photo-copier. Modern technology has made these projects slicker, but not necessarily better. Its crude reproduction actually makes it more graphically appealing to me. The information it contains on cheesy horror movies is well done, presented well, and entertaining.

I found the scans online--thanks to the person who scanned this zine--and am showing it with the warning that it is PROBABLY NOT WORK SAFE, because of occasional nudity. I don't find anything about Anita Strindberg or Edwige Fenech offensive, but others may. BE AWARE.
