THEM! Science Fiction 'zine, 1991

THEM! #1 is the type of fan-friendly, fun 'zine I used to love getting in the mail. Yes, this was how we did it in the pre-Internet days: we did artwork and pasted up type and pictures on paper and took them to the copy shop where we had 50 or 100 printed, and we sent them out to friends and fellow faneds for trade and letters of comment.

Phantom #1, 1962 Gold Key

Presenting another of my favorite Silver Age comics, THE PHANTOM #1, November, 1962, published by Gold Key Comics.

Drawn by Bill Lignante. The dramatic cover, repeated on the back cover sans lettering, is by George Wilson. Based on the character created by Lee Falk, this issue is scripted by Bill Harris, and is a knock-off of Richard Connell's 1924 story, "The Most Dangerous Game."
