Roy Crane's art techniques and his Lost World!

Crane is one of the most influential and respected cartoonists of the mid-20th Century. He drew the comic strip, WASH TUBBS, joined after a time by soldier of fortune, CAPTAIN EASY. He gave up that strip for BUZ SAWYER.

In this article from CARTOONIST PROfiles #125, from March, 2000, his scrapbook with examples of his artistic technique gives cartoonists some very solid advice and ideas. Also a strip in development by Crane at the time of his death in 1977 is featured.

    Thanks a million for these treasures -- Roy Crane is my favorite cartoonist of all time! His way of combining the best of adventure comics with humor and cartoony drawings is unmatched, and he was a HUGE influence on many golden-age greats.
